The Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science was honored to play an instrumental role in the 2024 SkillsUSA Texas Land Surveying Competition, which took place at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) on Apr. 6, 2024. A total of 39 students from seven Texas high schools took part in the competition.

This year’s SkillsUSA Texas Surveying Competition winners were:

  • 1st Place – Dubiski Career High School

  • 2nd Place – Klein Collins High School

  • 3rd Place – YISD Career and Technical Center

Judges for this year’s competition were all TAMU-CC alumni, and included:

  • Competition Chair - Richard Smith, Executive Director of the Conrad Blucher Institute, ‘03, ‘06

  • Dani Mladenka – SAM - Survey Technician III, ‘19

  • Xavier Sandoval – XDS Surveying – Principal RPLS, ‘00, ‘08

  • Bryan Gillis - Senior Geospatial Engineer at Katy ISD, ‘19

  • Nathan Eby – President of Eby Surveying, ‘07, ‘08
